CIEH have requested that we clarify the recognition surrender dates. This which we are pleased to assist:
CIEH announced it is voluntarily surrendering it's recognition as an Ofqual Awarding Organisation - what will this mean to you?
If CIEH is your awarding body for First Aid at Work qualifications then you will be seen as offering un-regulated qualifications, which will require your customers to carry out due diligence on your business. This is highly likely to have a negative impact on your business as the increased responsibility of carrying out due diligence is not an easy task for any employer to undertake.
See HSE document, (http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/geis3.pdf An employer's guide to "Selecting a first-aid training provider")
Your clearest option is to seek a new Qfqual Recognised Awarding Organisation, here AoFA Qualifications (also the awarding arm of the Association of First Aiders) can help. We offer a wide range of regulated qualifications in first aid, health & safety, food hygiene and quality assurance.
What's more, to become a centre of AoFAQ is FREE. As an incentive for NEW centres, in recognition of being a CIEH centre, AOFAQ will also offer your first course free!
All our centres receive FREE, professionally designed PowerPoints and lesson plans to support Centres. This is especially important when considering the time and effort needed to produce supporting materials. Furthermore, we are not your competitor, our training focuses only on improving standards not in competing for your clients.
CIEH's removal of Ofqual regulated qualifications operational end dates commence from the 31st January 2017.
So act now and call AoFA Qualifications on 0129 3344556 for details.
